These BEATS on this beattape, were designed and created for live performance for DJs and MCs. Over the years performing with my father 'KRS-One'. There was always a certain type of beat/production that was mainly BOOMBAP style. Hard hitting drums, cracking snares and bass that shakes the room, with a simple yet captivating sample.
If my father said 'Throw on some beats, we about to go freestyle.' These would be the beats.

This was the baseline for beats when i was DJings for my father, MC styles beats. Not a lot going on, just right to the meat. Step into the cypher feel.

During the live performances i had to switch the mood to a more calm and lecture vibe. So would let my father switch from full on MC to Poet.
That is why there are some with a chill mood and others with a more girtty feel.

These beats were created for the idea, of a true MC of his/her craft and a poet to fully immerse themselves within the beats. Not just rapping over some sound. No, to really spit your shit when its time to.
